Fulbright Distinguished Award in Teaching (August 2018) – The Fulbright Distinguished Awards in Teaching Program recognizes and encourages excellence in teaching in the U.S. and abroad.

Newark Public School’s Award of Excellence (June 2017) – Presented by Newark Public Schools Director of Mathematics Nick Romagnolo “for your learning mindset, for always going above and beyond, and for your willingness to teach your colleagues.”

The Fishman Prize for Superlative Classroom Practice – National Finalist  (May 2017) The Fishman Prize for Superlative Classroom Practice recognizes inspiring public-school teachers who are making a profound difference for their students, schools, and communities.

Newark Teachers Union Member Recognition Award (May 2017) – “For dedication to educating and inspiring the students of Newark and the members of the NTU.”

Teach For America – New Jersey’s Unsung Hero Award (December 2016) – “Presented for commitment to East Side High School in Newark and for success in teaching.”

Most Innovative New School Design (July 2016) – Presented during the 2016 Summer Principals Academy closing ceremony.

Educator of the Year (June 2016) – Awarded Educator of the Year for East Side High School by Newark State Superintendent Christopher Cerf.

Teach For America’s Alumni Award for Excellence in Teaching (May 2016) – The Teach For America Alumni Award for Excellence in Teaching is presented to outstanding alumni teachers in recognition for their leadership, classroom practice, and unwavering belief in the potential for all children to succeed.

Joseph B. Whitehead Educator of Distinction Award (June 2015) – Presented by the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation and the Joseph B. Whitehead Foundation in acknowledgment of educators who, with vision and purpose, enhance the minds and experiences of the future leaders of the country and is awarded for exemplary dedication to the field of education.

The Marist College Alumni Leadership Award (May 2012) – Presented by the President of the Marist College Alumni Association, the Alumni Leadership Award recognizes outstanding student leadership during a students’ four years at Marist College.

The James Pizzani Award (April 2012) – The James Pizzani Award is presented to someone who has contributed to the Marist athletic department, both academically and socially, displaying community service and leadership, and has performed above and beyond all expectations.

The Brother Paul Ambrose Lifetime Achievement Award (March 2012) – The Brother Paul Ambrose Lifetime Achievement Award is awarded for outstanding student leadership throughout a college career and for being influential in defining the roles, actions and initiatives of Marist College in its perpetual quest to meet the needs of all students.
